    FAQ

How can I add an event to Tokyo Gig Guide?
Email the details. Please include the dates, times, prices, venues and the names of the artists. Any other information is helpful like ticket details, links to artist websites and a photo.

    Why are two prices listed?
The first price is the advance or reserved ticket price, and the second price is the price at the door on the day of the event.

    Why are two times listed?
The first price is the time the doors open and people are admitted. The second price is the time the music starts.

How can I buy tickets from Lawson or Pia?
See the Tickets page for details, including a rough guide to using the Loppi ticket machines in Lawson Convenience stores.

What are the numbers after 'Lawson' and 'Pia?'
Those are the codes you can enter in the ticket machines to quickly find the event and buy tickets. See the Tickets page for details.

How can I buy tickets from overseas?
See the Tickets page for details. Tickets to some larger events are sold from Mosaico.

How can my band book gigs in Japan?
Sorry I don't know much about booking shows.
But this site should be a good resource. If you are a known band, contact the promoters listed on the Links page and contact some venues from the Venues page.
If you are fairly unknown in Japan, I'd suggest finding some similar Japanese bands and contacting them. If they like you, they'll probably add you to a bill or even help you organise shows. Check the Tokyo Gig Guide MySpace for links to heaps of Japanese bands.

Can I contribute to Tokyo Gig Guide?
Yes! Email any show information you know about. If you'd like to contribute any reviews or articles to the blog, email us about becoming a team member.

Can I advertise on Tokyo Gig Guide?
    Sure. Email a request.

How can I find out about gigs in other parts of Japan?
I don't know of any comprehensive listings for other cities, but check Seek Japan and Japan Times

Why isn't the band I like's show listed?
Without exaggerating, there are hundreds of gigs happening every night in Tokyo. Tokyo Gig Guide has a list of almost 150 venues and that's probably less than half of what's out there. So Tokyo Gig Guide only lists recommended shows or shows submitted by readers. If you know about any events you think should be listed, please email us the details.

    Who runs Tokyo Gig Guide?
This site is by Craig Exton, an Australian from Melbourne. He lives in Tokyo.
