Andrea Centazzo is an Italian percussionist, now based in the United States. He is a genuine legend, with a recorded history alongside the musicians who broke open free jazz on both sides of the Atlantic — Derek Bailey (guitar), Steve Lacy (soprano saxophone), John Zorn (alto saxophone), Eugene Chadbourne (guitar), the ROVA Saxophone Quartet. His percussion set-up alone is extraordinarily inventive. Here he comes face to face with Kaori Komura, a player of Korean traditional percussion. Into the flood of rhythm the two of them raise steps Shinpei Ruike, whose trumpet seems to drip with emotion. A chance to experience a sound you will hear nowhere else, in the intimate room that is Bar Isshee.
