Derrick "Big" Walker Workshop & Jam

Tues. May 24th - Blues Night Jam with visiting special guest Derrick “Big Walker”!

Kicking off with a Blues Harmonica & Sax Clinic from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Followed by Jam time from 7:30-11pm.

Derrick “Big” Walker, a multi-talented Bluesman originally from the Bay Area, is having his first mini tour in Japan, playing Blues bars in Tokyo and Osaka. On the 24^th, he will come to jam at the Cow! He would love to meet some local & expat cats while he is here in Tokyo! Please come join him and party with him!

Derrick “Big Walker” plays tenor and alto saxophone plus the ten hole diatonic and chromatic harmonica, sings and wrights his own songs. Derrick took some harmonica lessons from the legendary Blues harmonica player, Paul Butterfield. Bobby Forte - Villa Nova Dupré who played with BB King during the 60's and 70's and Nole Juks who play with Jimmy Witherspoon, gave him saxophone lessons. He has performed with many well-known musicians. When not on tour, he teaches workshops in blues history, singing the blues, harmonica and saxophone.
