Jissyo Canon is a Improvised performance directed by Calligrapher / Setsuhi ‘Eri’ Shiraishi and Musician / Miya. In ancient times Japanese people recognized and adapted subtle differences in pronunciation in their Language. Eri and Miya use this fact as a souse of inspiration, and improvise using one “sound” which can be taken in several different meanings. During the performance there will be a short work shop, where audiences can join in either with calligraphy or music.The performance takes place in a old Japanese style house, and the performers wearing Kimono, it will be a opportunity to experience the fusion of traditional roots and a contemporary expression . If you come in a Kimono you will get a discount (¥500).

Get off at JR Mejiro Station. There is only one exit. Cross the crossing right in front of the exit and turn left. Walk straight in that direction on Mejiro Street for about 5 min. Turn right at the 3rd traffic light named Shimoochiai 3 Chome and turn immediately left and go in the the narrow road. Yu-do is the third house on the street.
