Miyama McQuee-Tokita
Tokyo-based koto and bass koto player Miyama McQueen-Tokita’s practice re-imagines the vocabulary and tradition of Japanese music in the contemporary context of improvisation and experimental music. With the occasional addition of voice and electronics, Miyama’s work as a composer and interpreter speaks beyond her foundation in hogaku and experimental music, with influences ranging from Kazue Sawai to Meredith Monk. As a featured soloist and collaborator with ensembles such as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Australian Art Orchestra, Miyama’s ability to exist in multiple musical worlds is a defining aspect of her musical identity.

Hikaru Tanaka
An underground/alternative hip-hop MC from Japan, Hikaru Tanaka has been active since the late 2000s. He is known for a technical, chop-style flow paired with earnest, working-class lyrics — the kind of rapper's rapper often labeled a "true-school backpack MC." He has released solo albums ECHO CHAMBER and Round About Midnight, and under the collaborative name "Dry Echoes" with beatmaker FKD, released the album Narratage on OILWORKS Rec., followed by Danpen. Also known for a one-of-a-kind live style that deconstructs and rebuilds tracks in real time using a sampler and effects, he continues to perform both domestically and abroad, including in LA and Melbourne.

Aburaage
Drawing inspiration from experimental music, they have established a truly unique performance style built around distinctive technique and sense of groove. Live performances are essentially improvised, with sound created in the moment in harmony with the surrounding space.
