The Swamp Root Jimmies, 2 sets, live album recording
with Samm Bennett (vocals and assorted neo-primitive implements), Keigo Iwami (standup bass) and Naoya Numa (swingin' little custom made drum kit)
7pm open - 8pm start
(sets at 8 and 9)
entry: 1500 yen + 1 drink
Time once again friends, for the Swamp Root Jimmies to stir up some of that down home, funky backwoods flavor! shakin' 'em on down, and spinnin' and shufflin' round the half-forgotten corners of the old shack in the woods you visited in that dream you once had. You know, that dream where someone was whistling an old Stephen Foster tune while rubbing a balloon, and someone else (perhaps Al Green's drummer) was coaxing some supremely funky rhythms from the rickety floorboards of the front porch, while the parade outside passed by. That dream.
Oh, and we'll be recording the show for what might just be our first official release. Cause were all about that live sound, don'tcha know. We'll cure what ails you with our tried-and-true remedies and potions and you'll second that emotion.
The venue is SABACO in Waseda, a short walk from the Waseda station.
DIRECTIONS: take exit 3B from the Waseda metro station (Tozai line) - it's a short (4 minute) walk from there.

Directions: take exit 3B from the Waseda metro station (Tozai line), and turn right out of the station exit. Go to the next big intersection, turn left (there's a huge red temple gate there, and a koban - you should walk on the same side of the street as the koban) It's just up the hill from there, on your right, across from Waseda University campus. It's about a three minute walk from the station.
