This month's Musashino Juke Joint Blues Jam is held on Saturday the 12th! (Normally on the first Saturday but this month, on the 2nd.)
This 15-year-old Blues jam is definitely one of the best jams in town. Many of the regulars are excellent musicians--including amateurs, pros, former-pros, semi-pros, etc. All parts are welcome! If you don't play or sing, you can still enjoy watching them play.
The venue is a so-called "live house", which has a spacious room with a nicely equipped wide stage, and specializes in Okinawan dishes and drinks as well as ordinary menu items: Okinawan noodles, Orion beer, Root Beer, etc., etc. There are ample tables and chairs, so why don't you get there a bit earlier and enjoy the exotic food and drinks before the show starts. The room is primarily non-smoking but does have a smoking section in one corner.
Let's keep the Blues alive! See you there!
The Event Space ROSY NOTE (fka URUMA, even before that as SOLID) is a cool spacious venue with a capacity of 200 people suitable for various live shows and parties. The stage is quite big and equipped with a lot of different instruments, amps, etc. Sometimes after 22:00 when live shows are over, it can be used as a Karaoke bar. The monitor is hanging from the ceiling, so the singer can sing on stage looking at the monitor without looking down. When they do not have any live show, it is still open as a bar.
They serve some Izakaya type dishes and a variety of drinks.
Now owned by a lady named Rose, it looks a bit nicer and tidier. Ms. Rose always welcomes you! She speaks English, so don't be shy!
Directions:
From JR Musashi-Koganei station, take the South exit, take the Koganei Kaido streed down to the Maehara-skaue intersection, turn right on the 134 national street, go straight for a few minutes, and the venue is on your right hand side. It is a 5 or so minute walk from the station.
