If you have ever listened to Tokyo indie folk pop band The Watanabes, you may have come across their musical tale of heartache, Getting Over Yuka, lamenting broken promises and lost love:
You promised me we'd go to the Tokyo Tower... ♪ ♫
You promised me we'd go to the Tokyo Tower... ♪ ♫
You promised me we'd go to the Tokyo Tower... ♪ ♫
You promised me we'd go to the Tokyooooo Tooooweeer... ♪ ♫
Well, finally their dream has come true! The Watanabes are going to the Tokyo Tower.
On Saturday 9th April they'll be playing a 50 minute full band acoustic set at Tokyo Tower's Club 333 on the first floor on the main observatory from 7pm. The performance will be followed by an interview with the band. Strumming their tunes in the glow of Tokyo's stunning neon skyline, it should be an unforgettable experience and they would love to share it with you. The event itself is free, but there is an entry charge of 900 yen to get up to the observatory.
If you can't make it, or if you reside in distant lands - no worries! The whole performance and interview will be filmed by Odaiba TV and available to watch online.
