Epigenetics is a Psychedelic World Music Group lead by Ayuo. Strongly recommended to people who love a combination of Psychedelic Folk, Balkan and East European Folk Music, Middle Eastern World Music, and Medieval music.

Anna Pingina is a singer, songwriter, actress from the Caucasus in Russia, Previously acclaimed as a musical theater performer for principal roles in major international theatrical productions (Notre Dame de Paris, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story), Anna launched her solo career with a debut album “Moy” (Mine) in 2010. The album - a remarkable corollary to a 15-year immersion into ethnic folk studies - revealed a distinctive musical philosophy and enigmatic poetry, was nominated Best World Beat Album in the 11th Independent Music Awards (IMA) and won the fan-determined IMA Vox Pop.

Anna will be singing such songs as "Lastochka" (Swallow), which took the first prize at the European music competition “Driven Creativity Competition 2011”. "Lastochka" (Swallow) has also gained wide mass recognition later in 2012 as part of the soundtrack to a Russian blockbuster "Steel Butterfly".

The Bassist, Takuyuki Moriya, and the Drummer Junzo Tateiwa were both members of Ghost, a Japanese psychedelic rock band that toured the US and Europe with many albums released from the Chicago label, Drag City. Junzo Tateiwa is also well known as a percussionist of Medieval European music and Middle Eastern music.  Eugene Okano is a Jazz pianist, who also plays classical and contemporary music. Tomo is a hurdy-gurdy player and guitarist, who went to high school and university in Missouri, USA, and plays in a unique style combining medieval music with alternative rock.

Ayuo has recorded over 15 solo albums for labels such as Midi, Epic-Sony, JVC Victor, Polygram, and others, in which he recorded with many internationally famous popular musicians such as Peter Hammill, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Carlos Alomar, David Lord, Danny Thompson, and members of Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention.

 His more recent music brings together the ancient musical link on the Silkroad from Europe through the Balkans to Persia, India, Central Asia, China, Korea, and Japan by exploring the possibilities of using ancient and traditional music to create a new style of music.

In the 21st Century, he has released 3 CDs for John Zorn’s Tzadik label, which are available internationally. They are “Izutsu”, “Red Moon” and “Aoi”.

コーカサスのアルメニアやグルジアとも共通点を持つコーカサスの歌からオリジナル曲を歌うAnna Pinginaはワールド・ミュージックのファン以外にもプログレッシブ・ロック、アシッド・フォークのファンに人気がある。

Bjork、Massive Attack やPortisheadなどとも共通点を感じさえながら、独自の表現をしている。
