On FRIDAY, July 24 at 7:00pm (door 6:30pm), Peter Barakan will join Morgan Fisher in Morgan Salon for another special 60s/70s DJ session and talk show entitled “The London Boys.”
This show is their second "BLUES SPECIAL" edition, highlighting a genre that ranges from the most raunchy funk music to heart-searing, gospel-influenced slow ballads. Blues music, expressing black artists' culture and passion, exerted an early, powerful influence on legends like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.
A fantastic evening of music, videos and stories from the 60's and 70's!!!

Peter and Morgan grew up in North London, about 2 miles from each other. However, they first met in Tokyo in the 90s. For this event they'll revisit those amazing early days of a golden age in music.
Peter Barakan (born August 20, 1951) is a London-born broadcaster who has lived in Japan since 1974. In addition to hosting a number of radio shows, as the presenter of NHK World's "Japanology Plus,'' he introduces Japanese culture to a global audience. From 2014 to 2024 he curated the annual music festival "Live Magic!" and since 2021 his yearly "Peter Barakan’s Music Film Festival" shows music films that he has personally selected. He continues to hold events called "Demae DJ'' all over the country. Morgan Fisher (born January 1, 1950) is a London-born keyboard player, composer, photographer who has lived in Japan since 1985. Artists he has played with include Mott the Hoople, Queen, Yoko Ono, Yellow Monkey and Haruomi Hosono. Since 2011 he has collaborated with Peter Barakan on various music presentations in museums and live venues. He continues to hold varied musical and other events in Tokyo and elsewhere.ENTRY is 4000 yen (includes 1 FREE DRINK and snacks), payable at the door (cash only please).

今回の公演は「ブルース・スペシャル #2」エディションとなり、最も過激なファンクミュージックから、心を揺さぶるゴスペルの影響を受けたスローバラードまで、幅広いジャンルを網羅します。黒人アーティストの文化と情熱を表現するブルースミュージックは、ローリング・ストーンズ、ザ・フー、ジミ・ヘンドリックス、ピンク・フロイドといった伝説のミュージシャンたちに、初期から強烈な影響を与えてきました。
ピーターとモーガンと一緒に、60 年代、70 年代の音楽、ビデオ、物語を堪能できる素晴らしい夜をお過ごしください！！！

? ピーター・バラカン（1951/8/20生まれ）は、1974年から日本に住んでいるロンドン出身のブロードキャスター。主にラジオDJとして複数の番組を担当し、日本文化を世界に紹介するNHKワールドのTV番組「ジャパノロジー・プラス」のプレゼンターも務めている。2014年から2024年まで自身の音楽フェスティバル「Live Magic!」を統括し、2021年からは「ピーター・バラカンの音楽映画フェスティバル」を主催している。全国各地で「出前DJ」と名付けたイヴェントも続けている。
? モーガン・フィッシャー（1950/1/1生まれ）は、1985年から日本に住んでいるロンドン出身のキーボード奏者、作曲家、写真家。 これまでに共演したアーティストには、モット・ザ・フープル、クイーン、オノ・ヨーコ、イエロー・モンキー、細野晴臣などが含まれます。 彼は1985年から日本に住んでいます。2011年からはピーター・バラカンと協力して美術館やライブハウスでさまざまな音楽プレゼンテーションを行っています。 彼は東京をはじめとする各地で、音楽イベントなどの司会を続けている。
