Taking the Keio Line from Shinjuku Station and getting off at Shibasaki Station, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a peaceful, almost rural landscape—hardly the kind of place you’d expect to find a live music venue. Yet just a one-minute walk from the station is mod, a rising live house that hosts independent musicians every day and is steadily gaining attention.
One of its regular events, HATCH, features a lineup of up-and-coming bands, often exploring alternative rock, shoegaze, and sounds characterized by a distinctly Japanese sense of delicacy and emotional subtlety.

A live house/club with a café-bar, located a 1-minute walk from Shibasaki Station on the Keio Line. It also operates as a music shop selling cassette tapes, effectors and modular synthesisers.
The name 'mod' comes from the desire to 'modify' existing cultural and arts facilities such as live houses that rely on the old system, and to create a place where artists can gather and work easily. We want to continue to be an artist-first shop.
