Comment from the performer :
I am holding a solo live performance for the first time in two years. To mark the arrival of a grand piano at Ftarri, this concert will feature piano solo and electronics. The first half, dedicated to the piano, will include short pieces by Johannes Brahms—a composer I have long admired—as well as works by Hidemi Ishida, a composer, thinker, and philosopher who will have been gone for ten years as of next year. Although some of Ishida’s works have been released on recordings, they have yet to receive the public recognition they truly deserve. A concert dedicated to his work is scheduled for September of next year; this performance serves as a prelude to that event. While some of Mr. Ishida’s works are complex and dense with sound, the pieces I have chosen for this performance are relatively sparse and possess a gentle character (they are even within my own ability to play!). Through these meticulously crafted works—each reflecting his unique aesthetic—I hope to spark an interest in Mr. Ishida’s creative world among more people. In the second half of the program, I plan to fully immerse myself in electronic improvisation. I look forward to seeing you there.
