Hi everyone!
Well, we've just finished a very heart-warming tour of Tohoku and we will play a concert ONE NIGHT ONLY here in Tokyo - Friday, July 15, at the B-Flat Club in Akasaka, Tokyo, starting at 7:30PM.
Well, we will perform new, original jazz compositions that I wrote like "Shinkansen", "Japanese Sunrise", "Prayer for World Peace", "California Song", "Fast as Airplanes" and others. We will also perform classic jazz favorites... like "Take Five", "Driftin (Herbie Hancock), "Body and Soul", Charlie Parker's "Segment", and others.
If there is time we might play "You'd Better Ask Yourself" by the West African Femi Kuti. Also we'll do an original work written by our pianist Sakuma Yuko called "Yanesen" to honor the Central Tokyo area.
Altogether it will be, I think, an incredible night of modern jazz to uplift all our spirits. I hope to see you there!
Very Sincerely, Jim
