LEIB, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Yuma Takeshita

■Leib (from Switzerland)

Leib is a Swiss trio, consisting of Kevin Sommer (clarinet), Cyrill Ferrari (guitar) and Lukas Briner (drums). The band creates its music collectively, with the three musicians exhausting the repertoire of their instruments, expanding it with speakers and tape recorders, and blending their sounds into a new common sonic language.

■Tatsuhisa Yamamoto

Tatsuhisa Yamamoto is a drummer from Yamaguchi, Japan well known throughout the country for his work with a surprisingly wide range of musicians and theatre groups.

He performed on the recently acclaimed Drag City records “The Dreams My Bones Dream” by Eiko Ishibashi, “Simple Songs” by Jim O’Rourke, as well as Japanese singers Phew, Ua, and kahimi Karie. His wide interests have led him to be drummer of choice for Free Jazz legend Akira Sakata, composer/performer in many restagings of Terayama Shuji’s works, film score for NHK, as well as performing with artists as wide ranging as Keiji haino, Oren Ambarchi, Giovanni Di Domenico amongst others. He has toured extensively throughout Europe as well, in improvised music settings as well as the theatre group Swanny.

■Yuma Takeshita

Yuma Takeshita was Born in Osaka, he began performing mainly at live music venues in the Kansai region around 2001. After moving to Tokyo in 2012, he started creating custom musical instruments. He has designed and built his own electric bass, the "Electrobass," which has multiple sensor modules attached. Additionally, he has developed multi-axis rotating speakers, and asynchronous instruments incorporating mechatronics, all of which he performs with solo and sessions. In recent years, he has been showcasing his creations in exhibitions, creating installations, and providing technical support to artists both in Japan and abroad.
