KIMURA JUN (Guitar)

When he was in elementary school, he preferred jazz such as the Four Freshmen.

However, this was when he was in the second year of junior high school (13 years old). In the midst of studying for an exam overnight, he heard João Gilberto's "The Girl from Ipanema" on the FEN radio and got goosebumps.
Until then, he had never heard anything other than bossa nova played by Americans. The Brazilian's performance had a completely different groove and was more sophisticated. He was shocked by how different the two were and convinced that this was the music I was aiming for.
Since then, he has been immersed in Brazilian music, especially bossa nova. The world was in the midst of the bossa nova movement of the '60s.

At that time, there were very few musicians in Japan who started playing bossa nova guitar in earnest. As a result, all of his mastery of bossa nova guitar was self-taught from records.
In high school, he formed a bossa nova combo and started performing live.
Since then, he has interacted with many Brazilian musicians. He has recorded music, been a resident guitarist at a Brazilian restaurant, and has performed at various live concerts.

Currently, he is not only a bossa nova guitarist, but also has a wide range of activities such as pop and jazz.
Together with Sanshiro (Sax), he formed the acoustic bossa nova duo "SAPATOS". He passed the first test of "Heaven Artist" advocated by Governor Ishihara and became a street musician officially recognized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
He also actively participates in recordings of pop vocalists and the production of commercial songs.

"Shiseido Fufu Mascara Dramatic Eye" composed by Jun Kimura, and Matsushita Electric Sangyo's "Drying Washing Machine" and "Garbage Disposal" won both the Bronze Prize and the ACC Award at the 2002 (42nd) All Japan Commercial Broadcasting Association (ACC) Judging Committee, respectively.
In Meiji Seika's radio commercial "Meiji Chocolate" and the radio commercial for the National Home Appliance Series, he performed everything from composition and arrangement to performance and singing. He has also participated in the production of numerous commercial songs.

"Desara guitarist" that makes use of his 24 years of experience as a salaryman until 1998.
